For those who might be interested, I changed my Find Me page to About Me.
I gave a little bit about my background and where I grew up as well as opened the floor to any questions my readers might have. As I stated on the page, I retain the right to refuse to answer any questions I deem too personal. Although, some people would say I'm pretty much an open book. LOL
Feel free to post questions here in the comments and I'll see about adding the information to the page.
Now I'm off to work on getting the rest of my books listed on the "Other Books" page and maybe adding a references page with a list of books I've read and enjoyed using in my research on BDSM and Dominant/submissive lifestyles.
Have a great day!!

I wish you continued success, Qwilla.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your info!
Thanks, Rawiya. I've been very productive this morning. I got the "Other Books" page filled in as well as listing many of the reviews and their links on my books...
ReplyDeleteTime to eat, my stomach thinks my throats been cut LOL.
Have a great day.
Oh, And by the way, I'll be putting together a reference/research page soon for all my books and things I've read for the different books I've written. LOL.
I love the colors of your blog!
ReplyDeleteI have a question for you: What is it that sparked your interest in the BDSM culture and inspired you to write the stories you do?
I just wanted to drop by and say howdy to a fellow North Carolinian. I wish you every success, Qwillia.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah, I appreciate it and I'm glad to see another North Carolinian here as well.

Delaney,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment, I picked the colors from the color palette on Blogger. I thought they were warm and welcoming, the greens were just a bit too bright. LOL.
Hmm, as for your question, I guess I'll have to add that to my bio or the research page, but to answer it: I've always written detailed, graphic love scenes in my books (even when I wasn't quite sure how it all worked) and I've always been drawn to dominant male characters in books. Not the domineering, chest beating jerks that need a frying pan upside the head, but the kind that firmly establish who is the protector. (Think Wolf, Zane, or Chance Mackenzie from Linda Howard's Mackenzie's series.) The BDSM came from an interesting book my mom let me read when I was in 7th or 8th grade, but I didn't really delve into it until I learned about the erotic romance genre around 2001. Another author in Alaska introduced me to Ellora's Cave and there I found Lora Leigh's Bound Hearts series. From there I learned more and more about the lifestyle and started gobbling up all the books I could find (mostly fiction, but some non-fiction) about D/s and BDSM.
I try to depict the lifestyle as close to how it really is as possible, but what I write is fiction. Which means fantasy is woven into the story.
A girl can dream, right?
Thanks for asking, Delaney.
Qwillia
Qwillia, thanks for taking the time to answer.
ReplyDeleteFrom the sound of the excerpts I've read, you do a great job with the sexual tension inherent in the BDSM scene. I may need to find your stuff when I'm able to do some more kindle-shopping!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Delaney, did I answer the question sufficiently?
ReplyDeleteFiona, thank you. I try to make sure I get the D/s relationship as close to what my research has identified. The BDSM isn't always a component of the lifestlye, but my characters like it. LOL
