Tarot Tuesday: Strength (VIII) (R)

Today's Card:
Strength (VIII) (R)

The ninth card of the Major Arcana representing inner and outer strength. Calm control and healing that brings strength.

Meaning (Upright):

Look deep and draw on your inner strength; energy; overcoming temptation, attraction/repression, fortitude, power, courage, mental growth; representative of the struggle between the logic and the passions within us; overcome difficulties; endurance; leadership; a true friend; capable of winning over adversity; investigate artistic talents; if you can control your emotion it's possible to see if obstacles are real or imagined; organization necessary for success

Meaning (Reversed):

Listless, lack of energy, ruthless, egotism, focus on physical, little faith, deceit, conceit, cowardice, gambling; unable to succeed against adversity; vain, loud, egotistical; untrustworthy; jealous; dishonest; ruthless when in power; lazy; unaware of inner resources; difficulty coping; don't lose your nerve; don't surrender; domineering attitude doesn't help; harmony is necessary for success; don't distress others, but stand firm if you truly believe you're right; face reality and this will allow you to see the upsetting influences clearly

If you get Strength (VIII) Reversed in a reading...
Strength reversed in a reading is almost self-explanatory.
The situation you find yourself in may have you doubting your abilities -- your strengths. You may be acting lazy and trying to get ahead through dishonest means.
Now is the time to examine what's happening realistically.
Dig deep and find that inner core of strength that will allow you to face the situation head on with honesty and determination. If you don't, you're doomed to fail.

Here's the disclaimer: I have to stress, I am not an expert in the Tarot and I use them for myself and friends (and my characters) to help answer questions about situations and the future.

Enjoy and have a great day,
Q
