In a Reading: If the King of Wands shows up in a reading it can represent the presence of an older man (over 35), a leader in business, who can provide advice or counseling to you, possibly in a business matter. This particular person enjoys social settings. Keep in mind, this card doesn't always mean a person, it can indicate a possible inheritance on the way; or the opportunity for growth in your business or in your job.

Food Fun Friday: Chili Omelet

Food Fun Friday is coming in a day late, but with a spicy start to the weekend!

So, I'll never be normal...I love to eat breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast. My favorite quick meal? A steamy, spicy chili omelet with toast and milk.

Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1/2-1 c chili with beans
2 slices of bread, toasted
3 tbs unsalted butter
2 c and a splash of milk

In a small bowl, scramble eggs with a splash of milk. Melt 1 tbs butter in omelet pan or small frying pan over medium heat.

Pour eggs into the pan, swirling the eggs so the bottom is completely covered and let them cook. I like my eggs well-done, no soft or slimy consistency for me! So I let the eggs cook until the top is no longer shiny.

cook until eggs aren't shiny on top
While the eggs are cooking, heat the chili on the stove or in the microwave.

Once the chili is warmed, spoon half of it over the center of the eggs. Reduce the heat.
spoon chili over the center of the eggs
fold egg over chili
flip the omelet over
Depending on how you like your omelet, fold the egg in half or thirds, keeping the chili inside then flip it over and allow it to cook for 1-2 minutes.

Toast the bread and use the remaining butter on the slices.

Slide the omelet onto a plate. Spoon the remaining chili over the top. If you include cheese, sprinkle that over the chili. Pour the 2 c of milk into a glass, set the toast beside the omelet and enjoy!

toast, omelet and an oh so yummy meal

Tarot Tuesday: Judgment (XX)

Post number two for today.

Today's Card:
Judgment (XX)
The 21st card of the Major Arcana--
Judgment isn't necessarily the same as Justice
it often signifies a decision has been made or in the making

Meaning (Upright):
good things happening, ability to make progress and see what the future holds; face life realistically; no need for unwanted ties, make the changes you desire; cosmic energy to give you guidance surrounds you; important decision in the making; faith in higher power within; refusal to accept traditional views; trusting of self, spiritual atunement; career change or change of residence; understanding brings confidence

Meaning (Reversed):
materialistic focus; bad judgments of blind faith; fear of the New Age; tunnel vision; mortality; family loss or separation; traditional thinking; a need to face the truth; failure to rise to the challenge; uneasy feeling, self-made rut, loneliness; can't see a way out of certain situations; self-pity/feeling sorry for yourself isn't going to help; review your life and make plans for the future; don't let fear control you or lock you into a situation; try new ideas; a change of career, residence start over again. Sickness or loneliness may be affecting you

In a Reading: Judgment upright in your reading is a message from the powers that be that good things are starting to happen for you. It's a reinforcement that you have the opportunity and the ability to make progress as long as you're willing to look at your life and plans realistically. Don't jump into anything or make any major decisions without first seriously thinking it over. Relish your new found confidence and be willing to look at things in a non-traditional manner. Trust your self and your instincts.

Tarot Tuesday: Knight of Wands (R)

I missed a couple of Tarot Tuesdays so I'm doubling up today.

Today's Card:
Knight of Wands (R)
Wands often represent enterprise or business
Knights usually indicate a man between the ages of 21 and 35,
and wands often mean fair to red hair, blue or gray eyes;
The presence of the Knight of Wands doesn't necessarily mean a person will be involved, but it can also represent a situation or a person's thoughts.

Meaning (Upright):
a message or messenger with information regarding social or work activities; good news for work; action, movement; possible marriage, trip, or change of residence -- thoughts about career or what one does creatively; a young man, may create vibrations that call for sudden changes or decisions in life, someone presenting ideas regarding business that will be advantageous; the start or finish of an important situation

Meaning (Reversed):
a message or a person with negative information about work or social life; delays, frustration with job or social event; upset, anger, due to denial of expectations; trip cancelled. Egotistical actions inability to clearly see the road to take in a career; a young man who could possibly be the cause of feelings of restricted by minor disputes; lack of energy, despondency; try something new; frustration and indecision go with your gut, listen to your conscience; jealousy is causing odd behavior.

In a Reading: If you receive the knight of wands reversed in a reading, it doesn't necessarily portend negative things. Yes, it can represent a young man (21-35), but not always. Depending on his/its placement and the question being asked, this card could represent the presence of someone in your life who is upset or who has upset you. It can also mean the situation surrounding you needs to be reevaluated so that you can see the road you need to take. Although it can represent a cancelled trip or disappointing news about your work or social life it's not the end of the world. Take it as a sign that you should take some time to really look at your goals and plans. Look for any flaws or hitches that might crop up because an eventuality or option hadn't been explored.

Happy 5th Birthday Midnight Seductions Authors

It's Midnight Seductions Authors' birthday
AND you get the gifts!

In 2008 I was invited to join the Midnight Seductions Authors. The group of authors work together to help support each other in promoting our various books. When I first started, there were about 20 authors, it moved up to nearly thirty and recently reduced to just over a dozen. But every one of them works diligently to support one another when we promote our books.

If it weren't for the Midnight Seductions Authors, I would never have discovered how much I love live chats!

When one of the authors reminded the group about the group's upcoming birthday, we all offered suggestions about what we could do to celebrate this 5 year milestone. Eventually we came up with the idea of a blog hop. A way to pay back our readers for their support and dedication to the group.

With that in mind, we're offering one participant the opportunity to win a brand new Kindle Fire.

On each of the participating blogs, each Midnight Seductions author is offering an individual prize for one lucky person who leaves their comment. For one reader, I'm giving away a copy of one of my books from my backlist as well as a messenger bag embroidered with my Diablo Blanco Club series logo.

In order to be included in the drawing, you must answer the question in the Rafflecopter box and leave a comment on the blog. Make sure you include your email address so I can contact the winner easily.

The question you need to answer?
What do you think would be the best birthday gift?
Leave your answer in my comments as well as on the Rafflecopter link.

Don't forget to go by the other MSA Authors blogs to enter:

And a very big thank you to Dee Dawning for pitching in on the grand prize.
Dee loves to participate and support MSA.

Tarot Tuesday: Page of Cups (R)

Today's Card:
Page of Cups (R)

Court cards can represent a person or simply a situation. Take the time to examine the placement of the Court card within the spread as well as the question being asked.

A Page often signifies a young person, usually from infancy to 21 to 25 years old and can be either a boy or a girl.

The Cups suit represents love and relationships. If the Page represents a person, the physical description associated with Cups is: light brown hair, blue to hazel eyes.

Pages were often the court messengers, so a Page within a spread can mean a young person will be bringing a message to you, or that new information will be coming to you, so pay attention.

Meaning (Upright):

Someone who can offer help or cooperation; a gentle, quiet person; wonderful news about an idea, plan, program, or birth; message arriving; start a new project; warm and affectionate person; love and emotions; possible psychic abilities; creative--maybe a healer; could represent problems with alcohol or drugs

Meaning (Reversed):

Not using psychic abilities or creative talents; an offer of help; obstacles are being removed; see things in a new light; no desire to plan ahead; lethargy; change is in the air, forget about the past; spoiled brat lacking in self-confidence; emotionally draining; lots of disappointments; fear of rejection--unhappy news about relationship; lack of love--emotional abuse

If you get the Page of Cups (R) in a reading...
Depending on your reading this card can mean an actual person or it could identify a situation. The Page of Cups reversed, if it indicates a person, usually the person is between the ages of one and 25.
It can be a male or female with blue to hazel eyes and light to medium brown hair.
This person could be bringing you a message or it could be someone you're afraid will reject you, or who will disappoint you relationship-wise.
As a situation, the Page of Cups reversed can be a warning that you need to quit being lethargic because change is coming. You need to begin to plan and begin to build your self-confidence.

Enjoy and have a great day,

If you get Strength (VIII) Reversed in a reading...
Strength reversed in a reading is almost self-explanatory.
The situation you find yourself in may have you doubting your abilities -- your strengths. You may be acting lazy and trying to get ahead through dishonest means.
Now is the time to examine what's happening realistically.
Dig deep and find that inner core of strength that will allow you to face the situation head on with honesty and determination. If you don't, you're doomed to fail.
